House Rules

  1. Always tell the truth. No matter what.
  2. Love your siblings and treat each other with respect.
    • no yelling
    • no hitting
    • no kicking
    • no name-calling
    • no put-downs
  3. No arguing with your parents.
    • We want and value your input and ideas, but arguing means you have made your point(s) more than once.
  4. Respect your own (and each other’s) property.
    • Respect your belongings and take care of them as if you had to work hard for the money to buy them yourself. Ask permission to use something that doesn’t belong to you.
  5. Obey your parents.
    • Do what your parents say the first time, without complaining, throwing a fit, or needing constant reminders!
  6. Ask permission before you go somewhere.
    • Check in often and when asked to. Better to check in too much than too little!
  7. Follow basic house rules.
    • If you open it, close it.
    • If you turn it on, turn it off.
    • If you lock it, unlock it. And vice versa.
    • If you break it, fix it.
    • If you can't fix it, find someone who can.
    • If you borrow it, return it.
    • If you use it, take care of it.
    • If you make a mess, clean it up.
    • If it belongs to somebody else, and you want to use it, get permission.
    • If you move it, put it back.
    • If you don't know how to operate it, leave it alone.
    • If it doesn’t concern you, mind your own business.
  8. Always follow the “Golden Rule”: Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You.
